This is my newest sewing project. I gave it a high neckline with short sleeves and a stretchy band to shape the waist line. I also made my own print design. This was a print design from a watercolour drawing. Combined with another watercolour illustration that I have done.
I have the words I am strong, I am beautiful and I love me to represent the power of we have in our own minds with positive affirmations. I believe the mind is powerful when you send it positive vibes. I really love how handmade the print looks. The watercolour painting really gives it that effect. I can't imagine how difficult it used to be for independent designers to make their own prints. I'm so glad that now we have all the tools that we need and it's easier than ever now to create your own prints. I want you to be inspired to be free and to design whatever you like.

There are a few key pieces I rely on to spice up my winter wardrobe. Whether it's wearing a dress in a unexpected way or adding a statement accessory there's always something that can be added to keep it fashionable. Below I have listed out some of my favourite ways that I like to edge up my winter fashion. They are so easy and will make your A/W fashion looks that are on trend!
Black High Neck Jumper
Throwing on a cute casual jumper is my favourite outfit combination for a high waisted skirt. Sometimes an bold colour bottom can get both overwhelming and a little too kitsch for my taste, so adding a trendy high neck black jumper is the perfect solution.

Plaid Print
I am simply obsessed with the plaid print A/W trend. I love plaid because the variation of colours match perfectly with every colour, pattern and print. The versatility of plaid makes it the ultimate addition to any and all A/W collection.

So you want to learn how to sew. you've come to the right place because I have developed the number one Method for easy sewing. I enjoy sewing without patterns. Sewing without patterns can be rewarding. Because you make something completely from scratch using your own design from your head. It's something that you need to practice over time. A sort of skill that you need to learn usually I would start by draping a piece of fabric on the mannequin. When I drape the fabric I get to see where I could cut a hole or cut some arm holes. I usually start with a square, a triangle or a circle. and then I play with the fabric and start cutting holes and connecting squares and circles to create neckline and armholes. This process is easy. I recommend you to start on like a scrap piece of fabric. That you don't mind ruining. At first this method is hard because you make a lot of mistakes. But it's also fun to create something that is completely unique. And is not conforming to pre-made sewing patterns.
Don't get me wrong sewing patterns have a place in the sewing world, in fact, I do believe that everyone should learn how to use a sewing pattern and learn how to take measurements from the body. however, I think this freehand Sewing method is really fun and creative to use it can really take the anxiety and the scariness away from sewing for the first time I know a lot of people find it intimidating creating their first piece of clothing or even saying their own pillow or any sewing Project. I think it's good to get out of this mindset of really thinking I have to do everything right all the time. Sometimes it might be good to take some risk and when you take risks you can find you create something really beautiful. I think I've created the most wonderful designs from taking the risk. If you don't know where to start I would say begin by using my free YouTube tutorial this is perfect for the winter weather it's how you can create a faux fur cover up and it's 100% no sewing. I also have an easy DIY tartan top that you could try this is using the very simple method and the basic idea. But if you'd like to take a step further I have an entire skillshare course on how to sew your own clothes I walk you through how to make 4 different garments from scratch using absolutely no sewing patterns this is for the complete beginner so is not for someone who's advanced. I'll be creating some advanced sewing pattern videos later for my advanced people out there. If you'd like to have free access to my course as well as three access to other courses on skillshare click this link here and this will give you one-month free access. get fabrics here for your sewing projects
Hello my lovely welcome back to my blog so today I have an amazing fantastic topped designed for you. It's a puffy style rustic kind of top. When I designed it I was channeling vibes of Victorian mixed with a little bit of antique style. I was looking for the kind of fabrics that they would have used in that time. For this project I chose cotton I was looking for sort of muted rustic brown fabrics. I found the perfect rustic brown fabric. I found it on fabric.com they have amazing fabrics on this website and its the best fabric I have ever tried online. I browsed through all the different sections and I found this fabric. It was perfect for the project that I was creating. My initial idea was to make a simple top. I am currently making a skillshare course. About making your own garments without any patterns. So I decided to start sketching and making different ideas. Of how I can make an interesting piece without a pattern. ![]()
I decided to do this because this was my original way of learning. how to sew before I even went to fashion University. I learnt how to sew. I started by making my own garments from scratch without any patterns at all. When I first started learning how to sew I found patterns to be quite intimidating. I found it confusing and hard to follow a lot of the patterns. They were very difficult to understand for a beginner. So what I used to do was I would find some fabrics and cut it up and experimenting with drape. And creating shapes and designing without using any patterns. With this way I developed my free hand sewing technique. In my upcomingskillshare course. I teach you how you can make any garment you want From Scratch. Using no sewing patterns at all. This is perfect for beginners to advanced level. Because you can always learn something new from creating something without using patterns. with this top I started off with a huge baggy Square to drape over the body. Then started to add in some Batwing Arms. I gathered the neckline and the waist with some elastic and I added pleating to the hem.
I have developed my own easy freehand cutting method this technique can be applied to anything you are making. Don’t forget to sign up below. Click the “subscribe” button and you’ll be the first to know as soon as I launch a new course or have a big announcement to share with my students.
Hello my beautiful people welcome back to the blog, I'm so happy to see you here! I can’t get over this adorable dress. This pattern is a winner. Today I have a new design to share with you all I've created this really fun asymmetrical black dress do you love the dress as much as I do? Let me know tell me what you think of my new dress. For this dress I used Black cotton from fabric.com.
I designed this dress exclusively for the new skillshare course that I have coming up in the future and in this new course I teach you exactly how to make this dress step by step using a freehand cutting method that I developed.
This exciting freehand cutting method means that you can create any garment without the use of any sewing patterns which is amazing because if you don't use any patterns it means that you can design freely. This is my favourite way to design because it gives me the complete freedom to make the shapes. And create the look that I want and customise it exactly the way I need it to be. With this dress design I decided to sketch it out first when I was thinking of this design I wanted something very elegant and beautiful but at the same time fun and different! Currently I'm completely obsessed with voluminous shapes at the moment. I usually I like the very tight fitted things but I'm really obsessed with the cinch in the waist and the voluminous silhouette. So for this dress I decided to create a very full asymmetrical skirt and a nice baggy top and cinch it in the waist with elastic and then I accentuated this detail with my belt in the styling afterwards. ![]()

I created this guid to help you save time before you buy a machine because you don't have the chance to feel it yourself. The main things we're going to be looking at the functions on each machine as well as a look at automatic needle threader this is particularly important as when you was doing your own projects you don't want to be sitting around with any pesky little needles you need to re thread. You also want a buttonhole sensor a fall down sensor that automatically does the size of the button required to fit the chosen button You also want to make sure the machine you choose has a very good selection of different stitches. ![]() Starting with this great value budget sewing machine the Brother L14 Sewing Machine. This machine is perfect for the novice sewer easy to use and very lightweight and portable, this means you don’t have to worry about having a large space to keep your machine as it can be easily stored away.
